That is very confusing.and also the source given is now a dead link. MorphOS is based on the Quark Microkernel, and AmigaOS is based on Exec. I think they ALL Amiga OS & Amiga OS-Like operating systems are microkernel, and always were to begin with.unless there is recent development to add memory protection and that function caused it to be another type of kernel. 13 Doubled informations about MorphOS versions.12 Fair use rationale for Image:Lmm c.gif.11 Contradition: Open Source or Closed Source?.5 May2005-Error in the image of root-tree of Amiga OSes.Uploading legal missing Amiga related images/screenshots.

#IMPROVING AMIGA OS 3.9 DRIVERS#
Also activated VGAonly monitor drivers for better refresh rate, and as a bonus AHI now let me increase the sound output to 48Khz * DBLPal screenmode at 720x564 and 64 colours. * ReqAttack - I expected this to be slow on AGA, but it runs real smooth and looks awesome!
#IMPROVING AMIGA OS 3.9 FULL#
* Full Palette - To lock any Workbench colors * Visual Prefs - Completly customized GUI * DepthMenu - Very useful when having a lot of Windows open * NoClick, WinToFront, BlackBorder, BarClock (I know that similar patches are included with MCP, but MCP bugged heavily on my machine) On the other hand I didn't notice any slow down either, so I'll keep it runningīeing satisfied with the performance I went on something like this. * Executive - Claims to improve multitasking, but I didn't notice any extra smoothness. Windows move/resize and text scrolling is now much faster * SystemPatch - Made a huge performance boost for the poor AGA chipset. * FBlit - To speed up things and force graphics to use Fast instead of Chip (chip is now constantly around 1.7Mb!) * BlizzMagic - Since 0S 3.9 requires ROM 3.1 and I only have 3.0, I had to softkick it Once having the OS installed I went for a few patches to increase performance. Now that everything was copied I connected the HDD to the Amiga.

Then I plugged the Amiga hard disk into the PC using a 3.5" -> 2.5" adapter, partitioned/formatted it in WinUAE and then copied OS 3.9 to my Amiga hard drive. Boing Bag updates) in WinUAE as I've got no CD-ROM on the Amiga. I hope some of you guys will find it useful as well. I've written this mostly for myself, as a guide if I need to reinstall my Amiga later on.
#IMPROVING AMIGA OS 3.9 UPGRADE#
I made a similar post some time ago on, and since Martin_Lee posted a thread about his A1200 project here, I'd thought I'd share my Amiga upgrade history as well.
